Library Services

Circulation:

  • Books are circulated for a two-week period.   If no holds have been placed on the books, they may be renewed 2 times for an additional week.

  • Late return of books incurs a fine of 10 cents a day per item.

  • Reference books, periodicals and newspapers do not circulate.

  • Late return of video tapes incurs a fine of $1.00 a day per item.

  • Holds are placed on student transcripts and registration for non-payment of fines and lost materials.

  • Complete circulation information may be obtained at the circulation desk.

Library Instruction:

  • Instruction in the use of Library and instruction in accessing GALILEO is offered on an individual basis and for groups.

Reference Service:

  • The Library staff is available to assist you with your research assignments and in locating other information you may need. Call or email: library@middlegatech.edu

Interlibrary Loan:

  • This service is available to currently enrolled MGTC students, faculty and staff.  Books and periodicals not available in the Library can be requested from other libraries.                                                                                          (Click here to learn more)

Cooperative Agreements:

  • Currently enrolled students and currently employed faculty and staff members can check out materials from the Macon State College library and the Fort Valley State University library.  In order to use this service, an authorization letter must be picked up from the MGTC Library staff. Photocopier:

  • A copy card operated self-service photocopier is available for student use.   The charge is 10 cents per copy for personal copies. This includes black and white, as well as, color copies. Cards may be purchased in the bookstore for $1.25, which includes 5 copies. Value may be added in $1.00 increments. If you do not have a copy card you may use one provided by the Library for 20 cents per copy for black and white and 25 cents per copy for color.

Printing:

  • For currently enrolled students printing (not photocopying) material related to school assignments is free. Non-school related/personal printing is $0.10 per page. Students may print one (1) copy of a resume; all other copies are $0.10 per page. Pay for printed materials at the circulation desk.
