Middle Georgia Technical College Foundation Kicks off Annual Giving Campaign
October 15, 2006
The Middle Georgia Technical College Foundation kicked off its 2007 Giving Campaign, “Reaching for the Future,” on October 12. The campaign will run from October until March, culminating with a fundraising golf tournament. The campaign will raise awareness in the community of how the college benefits Dooly, Houston, Peach and Pulaski counties. Though MGTC is government funded, there are many constraints and restrictions that apply to those funds. Through private funding, the College is able to help its students with additional scholarships, stay current with ever changing technology, provide for continuous development and improvement of faculty and staff, and expand and enhance the programs offered to the students.
MGTC’s faculty and staff are also participating in the campaign. The employees that donate are able to participate in “Foundation Fridays,” which allows them to wear jeans and a MGTC shirt every week. Other members of the community have gotten off to an early start supporting the campaign, including: Way Brothers, Inc., Danielle’s Restaurant, SunTrust Bank, Colony Bank, JMA Architecture, HEA Credit Union, Butler Automotive, SunMark Bank, and Greenway Insurance. For more information on supporting the MGTC Foundation, please contact (478) 988-6836.
