MGTC Honor Society Inducts Members
Warner Robins - The Middle Georgia Technical College Chapter of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) recently inducted 14 new members. The induction ceremony was held during the Summer Quarter Awards Day Ceremony in the Auditorium at MGTC's campus in Warner Robins.
Cynthia Rumney, Computer Information Systems instructor, and Jolie Martin, Cosmetology instructor, both advisors for NTHS, conducted the ceremony.
For their induction, the students stood as a group and recited the membership pledge. Each student was then called on stage to receive a certificate and lapel pin. In addition, they each received a special gift bag.
To receive this honor, students must be nominated by an instructor, be a full-time student at MGTC for at least two complete quarters, and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.8. The student must also demonstrate leadership abilities and display a commendable attitude, good mentality, worthy character, credible achievement, and a desire to pursue a career in the field of his or her technical study.
Middle Georgia Technical College students who were inducted during the ceremony include Danny Bass of Warner Robins, Electronics; Christina Beck of Warner Robins, Electronics; Christian Brents of Bonaire, Electronics; Kristina Fuchs of Kathleen, Aircraft Structural; Amanda Goff of Warner Robins, Accounting; Joshua Icard of Kathleen, Electronics; Rocky Moua of Atlanta, Dental Hygiene; Chassie Nipper of Wrightsville, Dental Hygiene; Kawanna Reese of Hawkinsville, Dental Hygiene; Ashley Smith of Hawkinsville; Wendy Toliver of Warner Robins, Business Office Technology; Angelique Tripp of Roberta, Business Office Technology; Neil Whitlow of Warner Robins, Electronics; and Sondra Wyatt of Bonaire, Accounting.
As a member of NTHS, students must possess the seven characteristic principles of the organization which are knowledge, skill, honesty, service, responsibility, citizenship, and leadership. The Society has recognized outstanding student achievement in workforce education since 1984. Over 1,500 schools and colleges throughout the U.S. and its territories are affiliated with NTHS. Induction into NTHS is a benchmark—the highest award for excellence in the workforce education in America.
