Pamela Johnson Named Corrections Employee of the Quarter at MGTC
Pamela Johnson, a Business and Customer Service (BCS) Technology instructor in Middle Georgia Technical College’s Department of Corrections Training program, was recently named Corrections Employee of the Quarter for Winter Quarter 2008.
Johnson teaches the BCS course at the Western Pre-Release Center (PRC) in Butler and the Lamar Pre-Release Center in Barnesville.
She received the news at the quarterly meeting of corrections educators from Tom Wellman, director of Correctional Programs, and Cheryl Stelk, director of Advancement at MGTC. Johnson was selected for this honor by the administrative staff in MGTC's Economic Development department, which oversees the Corrections Training program.
In recognition of her honor, Johnson received a framed certificate and gift basket provided by the MGTC Foundation. In addition to presenting Johnson with the basket, Stelk also gave the corrections employees an overview presentation about the MGTC Foundation and how the college and students benefit from donations made to the non-profit organization.
The quarterly meeting of the MGTC Corrections educators is designed to bring together all MGTC Corrections instructors from all over the state for professional development and to network about issues regarding vocational training within the Georgia Department of Corrections.
