MGTC Phi Beta Lambda Hosts Guest Speaker for National Free Enterprise Day
Warner Robins - In recognition of National Free Enterprise Day, the Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) student organization at Middle Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins recently hosted guest speaker Jack Lester, city president of BB&T Bank in Warner Robins. Although National Free Enterprise Day is celebrated annually on November 15, MGTC hosted its event Wednesday, November 18.
Lester spoke to students about credit and lending from the banking industry's perspective. During the open forum, students had the opportunity to ask specific questions. Lester addressed the importance of maintaining a good credit score and what bankers are looking for when making the determination to approve a loan or not.
The event was sponsored by the PBL organization at MGTC. Student leaders and advisors of the organization worked to put the event together. After the guest speaker, lunch was provided to all participants.
PBL is a national organization and is the post-secondary equivalent of Future Business Leaders of America, or FBLA. Phi Beta Lambda is dedicated to professional development, community service, and building leadership skills. Students from all program areas are invited to join the organization. For more information and to join the club, call 478.988.6800, ext. 5024.
