Dr. Amy Holloway Joins MGTC as Vice President for Academic Affairs

Warner Robins - Amy L. Holloway has joined the staff of Middle Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins as the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Her appointment became effective July 1 upon the retirement of Dr. Gerri Sorrell.

At MGTC, she will be responsible for overseeing credit faculty and programs, as well as serving on the College's Steering Committee for the conversion from quarters to semesters.

Dr. Holloway previously served as the Dean of Instruction for Curriculum and Professional Development at Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) in Macon. Prior to her time at CGTC, she was an English instructor and Division Chair at Middle Georgia Technical College from 1998 to 2004. She has also previously taught English at Macon State College and DeKalb College and worked at East Carolina University as an Editorial Assistant.

Dr. Holloway holds a doctoral degree in Higher Education from the University of Georgia and a Masters of Arts in English from Emory University. She completed her undergraduate studies in English at Mary Baldwin College. In 2003, while at MGTC, she was named the State Rick Perkins Award Winner for Excellence in Technical Instruction. She has also received the Team Innovation Georgia Public Employees Recognition Award, was named to Who's Who Among America's Teachers, and was a Governor's Teaching Fellow at the University of Georgia in 1996 and 1997.

Dr. Holloway is married to Mike Holloway and they have two children, Timothy, 13, and Katy, 10.
