Jeff Smith Automotive Donates New KIA Optima to Middle Georgia Technical College
Warner Robins - For the second year in a row, Jeff Smith, owner of several local automotive dealerships, including Jeff Smith KIA in Perry, made the generous donation of a brand new KIA to the Middle Georgia Technical College Foundation. Smith presented Dr. Ivan Allen, president of Middle Georgia Technical College, with the keys to the 2011 KIA Optima LX at the 6th annual MGTC Foundation Golf Tournament held at Houston Lake Country Club April 1st.
Smith, who also served as the corporate sponsor for the Tournament, donated the car to the College as a sign of community partnership. The car was unveiled at the tournament to reveal the full-color wrap that promotes Middle Georgia Technical College and Jeff Smith KIA.
This is the second such donation Smith has made to the College. In 2010, Smith donated a brand new KIA Soul to the MGTC Foundation.
"Jeff Smith is an outstanding corporate citizen and we are proud to partner with him,” said Dr. Allen. "He has a long-standing reputation of generosity and as a successful businessperson in Houston County. We are honored that he has decided to once again make this donation to our Foundation and our College.”
Just as with the 2010 donation of the KIA Soul, the Optima will also be used as a recruitment tool. School officials will have the opportunity to drive the car, which serves as a 'rolling billboard,' to local high schools and other community events.
MGTC is a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia and is committed to bettering the economic, educational, and community development of middle Georgia through quality workforce education and training opportunities.
The Middle Georgia Technical College Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the College and its students by supplementing available state resources with private funding to help further the College's mission of contributing to the economic and educational development of the community.
