MGTC Honor Society Inducts Members

The Middle Georgia Technical College Chapter of the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) recently inducted 37 new members. The induction ceremony was held during the Spring Quarter Awards Day Ceremony in the Auditorium at MGTC's campus in Warner Robins.

NTHS Advisor Dr. Morris Clarington, an Allied Health instructor at MGTC, conducted the ceremony.

For their induction, the students stood as a group and recited the membership pledge. Each student was then called on stage to receive a certificate and lapel pin.

To receive this honor, students must be nominated by an instructor, be a full-time student at MGTC for at least two complete quarters, and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.8. The student must also demonstrate leadership abilities and display a commendable attitude, good mentality, worthy character, credible achievement, and a desire to pursue a career in the field of his or her technical study.

Other inductees include Brianna Stevens of Gray, Cosmetology; Brandi Stone of Warner Robins, Dental Hygiene; Kimberly Townsend of Warner Robins, Computer Information Systems; Maria Tran of Kathleen, Dental Hygiene; Audrey Watson of Elko, Computer Information Systems; Stephen Wilford of Byron, Electronics; and Lisa Willis of Byron, Aircraft Structural Technology.

As a member of NTHS, students must possess the seven characteristic principles of the organization which are knowledge, skill, honesty, service, responsibility, citizenship, and leadership. The Society has recognized outstanding student achievement in workforce education since 1984. Over 1,500 schools and colleges throughout the U.S. and its territories are affiliated with NTHS. Induction into NTHS is a benchmark—the highest award for excellence in the workforce education in America.
