Margaret Yawn Wins Great Clips Challenge at Middle Georgia Technical College

Local Great Clips salon owners, John and Brenda Page, recently hosted the "Great Clips Challenge" for Cosmetology students at Middle Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins. Margaret Yawn of Perry emerged as the top finisher in the competition and received a $100 cash prize. Prizes were also awarded for second through fifth places.

Jolie Martin, program chair for the Cosmetology program at MGTC, partnered with the Page's and Great Clips to host the third annual Great Clips Challenge. The Page's sponsored the prizes and judges for the competitions were local Great Clips team members. Judges for this year's event were James Talley of Great Clips Macon, and Tonya Burgess and Paula Ivey, both representing the Great Clips store on Highway 96 in Bonaire.

Senior students in the Cosmetology department participated in the competition. Along with Yawn, finishing second in the competition was Alethia Samuel of Warner Robins. Third place went to Christina Floyd of Hawkinsville and fourth was awarded to Dereck White of Warner Robins. Donna James of Warner Robins received fifth place.

John and Brenda Page opened their first Great Clips Salon in the Middle Georgia area in 1999 and currently have seven Great Clips locations in the Middle Georgia area. The Page's are also members of the Cosmetology advisory board at MGTC.

MGTC offers a diploma program and Technical Certificates of Credit in the areas of Cosmetology and Barbering. Fall Semester classes will begin August 23.
