MGTC Awards iPod to Veronica Williams of Fort Valley

Veronica Williams, a student in the Early Childhood Care and Education program at Middle Georgia Technical College in Warne Robins, was recently selected as the winner of a brand new iPod Nano. Williams is from Fort Valley and is working toward her diploma at MGTC.

"I am so grateful," said Williams. "I don't have an iPod and I have really been wanting one, so this is truly a blessing."

Craig Jackson, vice president for Student Affairs presented the prize to Williams. She is currently employed at Loving Care Daycare Center in Centerville and is on track to graduate from the Early Childhood program in December 2011.

Williams won the iPod after her name was randomly selected out of over 1,000 students who registered for classes on Monday, July 18. July 18 was the first day to register for Fall Semester classes for current MGTC students. The iPod promotion was designed to encourage current students to register as early as possible to ensure they get the classes they want for the upcoming semester.

MGTC is a unit of the Technical College System of Georgia and offers over 100 options to students pursuing an associate's degree, a diploma, or a technical certificate of credit. The College is currently registering students for its first ever semester, which begins August 23. New student registration begins July 25. Students should apply as early as possible.
