Kimberly Ogburn Wins Great Clips Challenge at Middle Georgia Technical College

Local Great Clips salon owners, John and Brenda Page, recently hosted the Great Clips Challenge for Cosmetology students at Middle Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins. Kimberly Ogburn of Macon emerged as the top finisher in the competition and received a $100 cash prize. Prizes were also awarded for second through fifth places.

Jolie Martin, program chair for the Cosmetology program at MGTC, partnered with the Page's and Great Clips to host the third Great Clips Challenge. The Page's sponsored the prizes and judges for the competitions were local Great Clips salon managers, Susan Holloman of the Perry store, and Danny Morrell of the Macon store.

Senior students in the Cosmetology department participated in the competition. Along with Ogburn, finishing second in the competition was Talyia Little of Warner Robins. A tie was presented to Brianna Stevens of Gray and Megan Hardison of Warner Robins for third place. Fourth place went to Nicole Plaxico of Kathleen and Brittany Rover of Macon received fifth place.

John and Brenda Page opened their first Great Clips Salon in the Middle Georgia area in 1999 and currently have seven Great Clips locations in the Middle Georgia area. The Page's are also members of the Cosmetology advisory board at MGTC.

MGTC offers a diploma program and Technical Certificates of Credit in the areas of Cosmetology and Barbering. Fall semester classes will begin August 23.
