Houston Healthcare Partners with MGTC for PCT Program

Houston Healthcare and Middle Georgia Technical College have partnered to train students in preparation for potential employment as Patient Care Technicians (PCT) at Houston Medical Center and Perry Hospital.

The PCT provides patient care to include assisting with activities of daily living, obtaining vital signs, monitoring the patient intake and output, specimen collection, transporting patients throughout the hospital, preparing patients for procedures and tests, and other specified procedures and tasks.

This program includes a clinical rotation as part of the curriculum to give students insight into the daily work of a PCT at Houston Healthcare. Those in the program who maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0, are Georgia Work Ready-certified, and are recommended by MGTC faculty, will be guaranteed a job interview with Houston Healthcare for potential employment.

Hiring is based on job openings, as well as other requirements. For more information about the PCT program, contact MGTC at 478.988.6800 or call the Human Resources Department at Houston Healthcare at 478.975.5455.
