Association for Information Technology Professionals First Annual Regional Competition
Warner Robins - The Association for Information Technology Professionals (AITP) club at Middle Georgia Technical College in Warner Robins will host the first annual regional competition for college and university AITP clubs in Middle Georgia. Colleges expected to participate include Macon State College, Georgia College and State University, Central Georgia Technical College, Gwinnett Technical College, Atlanta Technical College, and MGTC.
Competitions held at the district level will include a shirt design competition, banner design competition, database design, PC troubleshooting, network design, security programming, and MS Office solutions. Students who compete and place at the local level can have the opportunity to participate in the AITP National Collegiate Conference will be held March 28-April 1, 2012 in San Antonio, Texas.

Shawna Early serves as the adviser for AITP at MGTC. All Information Technology students are encouraged to join the club and take part in competitions.
"This is a great opportunity for students to showcase skills they have learned in the classroom," she said. "AITP conferences present students with many opportunities including companies who are looking for employees. Plus, participation in the AITP club serves as a great resume booster."
For more information on joining the AITP club at MGTC, students should attend the club"s Spring Semester meeting January 25th at 11 am in room B223. The club will also hold officer elections soon.
