The Middle Georgia Technical College Foundation Hosts 3rd Annual Race for Education

Warner Robins - On Saturday, September 29th, the Middle Georgia Technical College Foundation will host its 3rd Annual Race for Education. Race for Education is a run/walk fundraiser for literacy, in which all proceeds benefit Adult Education programs at MGTC, including GED scholarships, health and family literacy programs, ESOL, and many other educational programs.

MGTC's Race for Education will feature 5k, 10.2k, and one mile fun run events. Early registration fees are $20 for the 5k and 10.2k, or $35 for both races. For the 19 & under age groups registration fees are $15 for the 5k and 10.2k, or $25 for both. The fee for the one mile fun run is $10.

Teams are highly encouraged to participate in the race as well. In order to participate as a team, entries must be submitted by September 14th in one envelope in a group of eight or more. This will allow each team participant to receive $2 off each 5k or 10.2k race entry or $5 off registration for both races. Late registration fees take effect after September 14th.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for the event, ranging from $250 to $5,000.

This is a Run & See Grand Prix event and is managed by Classic Race Services. The course will begin at MGTC and continues through the Houston Central area. Registration begins at 7 am, the 5k race begins at 8 am, the 10.2k race begins at 9 am, and the one mile fun run begins at 8:30 a.m.

Participants can register online at www.active.com. For registration details and sponsorship opportunities, contact the MGTC Foundation at 478-988-6800, ext. 7202 or e-mail dsteele@middlegatech.edu.
