MGTC Foundation Hosted 2nd Annual Golf Tournament

March 30, 2007

The 2nd Annual Golf Tournament benefiting the Middle Georgia Technical College Foundation was held Thursday, March 29 at Houston Lake Country Club. One of the primary goals of the MGTC Foundation is to support the college in improving the quality of life in our community. Though Middle Georgia Technical College is government funded, there are many constraints and restrictions that apply to those funds. Through private funding, the College is able to help students with additional scholarships, stay current with ever changing technology, provide for continuous development and improvement of faculty and staff, and expand and enhance the programs offered to students.

MGTC would like to thank and recognize Perdue Farms as a Corporate Sponsor as well as the following Hole Sponsors: AT&T, Bank of Perry, Byrd & Co, CB&T, Clean Control, Colony Bank, ComSouth, FMI Services Group, Flint Energies, Houston Healthcare, Ibalz, JMA Architecture, Dr. Michael Loden, MS Harris & Assoc., Nat’l Bank Products, Planter’s First, Security Bank, Jeff Smith Nissan, Mayor & Mrs. John Stumbo, and SunMark Bank. Coca-Cola and Step2 generously provided beverages and door prizes for the day’s activities.

There were a total of 29 teams participating in the tournament. Lunch was served at 12noon followed by a 1pm shotgun scramble. A free golf pain clinic, sponsored by Houston Healthcare, was held from 11am-1pm. The event was deemed a huge success by all attended
