Bowen wins Georgia PBL Businessperson of the Year
April 18, 2007
On a night when MGTC’s Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) chapter won many awards, one of the awards given was not for a student. MGTC PBL nominated Michelle Bowen won Businessperson of the Year for Georgia’s PBL. Ms. Bowen is CFO of Clean Control Corporation, the makers of Odo-Ban and other industrial cleaning products. She is a very valuable member of the Middle Georgia Technical College family serving as an advisor and an inspiration. She serves on the Accounting and Business Office Technology Advisory Committee to guide faculty members in their decision-making.
She is also a great asset and a great friend to PBL at the college as well! She has spoken to students at PBL Week about climbing the corporate ladder and she has sat on the Business Panel, a quarterly question-and-answer session with students, on several occasions. Under her leadership, Clean Control has generously given to support the activities of the PBL organization as well as Middle Georgia Technical College’s Foundation.
“She is an excellent example of a professional and successful businessperson both for students in the PBL organization and for all students at Middle Georgia Technical College” said Sam Lester, MGTC’s PBL Advisor.
Phi Beta Lambda is the college level division of the international FBLA-PBL Career and Technical Student organization. FBLA-PBL is a non-profit organization of middle school, high school, college, and professional members designed to help students transition from their education into the business world. FBLA-PBL is the largest student-run business related organization in the United States with over 250,000 members. MGTC’s PBL chapter consistently has top finishers in state and national competitions and allows students to not only compete with their peers, but also to interact with business partners throughout the community to prepare them to take their place in the workforce.
