MGTC Opens New Bookstore and Administration Building

September 14, 2006

On Wednesday, September 13, Middle Georgia Technical College held a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening for the new campus bookstore and administration building. Guests enjoyed a light lunch and door prizes, including a laptop and MP3 players, provided by local business partners and friends of the College. Distinguished guest speakers included: Larry Snellgrove, Member of the State Board of Technical Adult Education, and Frank Feild, President of Warner Robins Area Chamber of Commerce.

Construction for the building began in early 2006 and cost over $1 million, which was locally funded. The building is approximately 8,000 square feet, with two-thirds of the space comprising the bookstore. The new bookstore will allow students to have more space to shop for textbooks and have more options to purchase gift items. In the near future, the bookstore will have a heat-transfer machine that will allow for special order personalization of t-shirts, mugs, mouse pads, and other items.
