MGTC Foundation Hosts Community Summit
The Middle Georgia Technical College Foundation recently hosted a Community Summit to engage members of the business community in the process of improving the College. Leaders from several local businesses and industries attended to give insight into the issues that they see as the most important challenges facing the community, the education system, and economic development in the region.
Geoff Little of the Clements Group served as moderator for the event. Middle Georgia Technical College volunteered to host the event as part of an ongoing partnership between the Technical College System of Georgia and the Clements Group.
“The Clements Group has been working with technical colleges across the state to help determine where we can improve as a system and as individual colleges that serve local communities,“ said MGTC Director of Advancement Cheryl Stelk. “The results of our summit will be compiled and distributed to college officials, as well as the participants. This will give us an idea of which areas need our attention.“
Companies represented at the meeting include Clean Control, Inc., Flint Energies, Wal-Mart, Super Lawn Trucks, Houston Healthcare, Houston County Schools, Peach County Schools, Nationwide Insurance, Purdue Pharmaceuticals, American Wizard, and Cooper-Sugrue Properties.
The Middle Georgia Technical College Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the College and supplementing available state resources with private funding to help further the College΄s mission of contributing to the economic and educational development of the community. All donations made to the MGTC Foundation are tax-deductible. For more information on the MGTC Foundation, contact Cheryl Stelk at 478.988.6800 ext. 7201.
