MGTC to Host 3rd Annual Open House and Senior Night

Middle Georgia Technical College, in conjunction with the Stay in School/Education and Careers Partnership, will host the 3rd Annual Open House and Senior Night, Thursday, March 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the MGTC campus in Warner Robins. This event, themed “Don΄t Drop Out, Drop In,“ encourages students in MGTC΄s service delivery area of Houston, Dooly, Peach, and Pulaski counties to complete high school course work and pursue post-secondary educational opportunities upon graduation.

At this event, middle and high school students and parents will have the opportunity to visit the MGTC campus to learn strategies to be successful in high school and beyond. College representatives will also be available to discuss career opportunities and educational options.

Participants can visit over 18 program areas at MGTC and learn about financial aid, career placement, advisement and counseling, and receive information on dual enrollment and post-secondary credit options such as articulation, dual enrollment, ACCEL, and the mini-core. In addition, high school seniors will have a special session focused on opportunities after high school graduation.

Alicia Long, Education and Careers Partnership coordinator, encourages all students and parents to participate in this informative event.

“We hope that all of our local middle and high school students will join us for an evening filled with fun, food, and opportunities for your future,“ she said. “At MGTC, your future is our business and we want to help you succeed.“

There will be two sessions for the event. The first session, at 6 p.m. will be for students from Dooly, Peach, and Pulaski counties. Houston County students will have the opportunity to participate in a separate session at 6:45 p.m. All local-area educators are also invited and encouraged to attend. Door prizes will be available and refreshments will be served. Call 478.988.6800 for more information.
