MGTC STOPPED ATTENDING POLICY
After a student has attended a class at least one time (for an online student, completing a given course assignment before the required date), the student is considered on the class roster. During the semester, an online student who has not completed an assignment (excluding work ethics) in the online class for 14 consecutive days* will be considered as stopped attending. Once a student is indicated as not attending, the student will receive a grade of WF for the course. Students submitted as “stopped attending” are not eligible to be reinstated in the course for that semester.

A student may withdraw from a course by turning in a completed withdrawal form to the Admissions Office.

*This policy changes for Summer Quarter 201201 from 14 days to 7 days.

DROP/ADD POLICY
A student may drop or add a course through the third scheduled class day of the semester. Courses dropped during the drop/add period will not calculate in the student's official grade point average. Students will receive a grade of “W” which indicates they withdrew before earning a grade in the course. Students attempting to register for a course during the drop/add period will not be permitted to do so if they have missed more than ten percent (10%) of the contact hours of that particular course. Schedule changes must be approved by the student's academic advisor. A student dropping a course after the end of the drop/add period but prior to midterm will be assigned a grade of W. Students who withdraw/drop after midterm will receive a grade of WF. A student who stops attending a course or fails to attend a course that he/she is registered for without officially withdrawing from the class will receive a grade of WF. Schedule change forms are available in the Admissions Office.

DROP/ADD PERIOD
Any course may be dropped without penalty on or before the third day of the quarter.
-Students may withdraw anytime before midterm with a grade of "W."
-After midterm, a student withdrawing from a course will automatically receive a grade of "WF."
Semester dates are available on the
school calendar.

STUDENT STORAGE
All credit students at Middle Georgia Technical College have access to a personal folder that can be used to store school related documents and work. This folder is accessible from any pc on campus by using your personal login and it is also accessible from any Internet connected pc by using FTP (File Transfer Protocol). We recommend using SmartFTP; it is free for personal and academic use and is relatively easy to setup and use. Smart FTP can be downloaded from http://www.smartftp.com and clicking on the download SmartFTP link. Full instructions for use of Student Storage can be found in this PDF.
