The CARE Center
From placement testing to tutoring, advisement to registration, the goal of the CARE (Counseling, Advising, Retention, and Evaluation) Center is to get you on and keep you on the path to academic success
We offer a wide variety of services to benefit students and make sure they succeed at Middle Georgia Technical College.
We're open:
- Monday - Wednesday: 7:45 AM - 7:00 PM
- Thursday: 7:45 AM - 5:30 PM
- Friday: 7:45 AM - 3:30 PM
- Hours may vary in between quarters and holidays.
Placement testing is available
- Monday - Thursday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Testing is also available by appointment if you are unable to test during normal testing hours. If you require special testing accommodations you must make this known to CARE center staff in advance of your test.
Georgia Work Ready Testing
The Georgia Office of Workforce Development has created the Georgia Work Ready program to enable communities in Georgia to validate their workforce. This will allow those communities to ensure that they are prepared for the hiring needs of large industries and enable them to appeal to new employers through the economic development process.
Middle Georgia Technical College offers Work Ready Testing every Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. by appointment. In order to arrange an appointment to test, call 478-988-6800 x5017 or e-mail Richard Wallace.

PSB Testing
All Allied Health Students except for Medical Assisting must take the PSB test by the time they complete their core courses (normally the second quarter).
- Testing Fee: $20 - Pay at the cashier in the bookstore. Bring your receipt and picture ID to the testing center.
- Test Dates: Monday - Thursday, no appointment needed
- Test Time: 8 AM - 2 PM, you can start the test at any time during these hours, it takes 2 1/2 hours to complete
- Location: A130 - Testing Center
